RIOT SCAVENGER HUNT
OFFICIAL RULES
OFFERED ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. ENTRANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER AT THE TIME
OF ENTRY.

1. Eligibility. The Film Riot Scavenger Hunt (the “Scavenger Hunt”)
is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the
District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at time of
entry. Employees, officers and directors of Discovery
Communications, LLC (“Sponsor”), its parent company, subsidiaries,
affiliates, TV production partners, advertising agencies,
promotional suppliers (collectively, “Scavenger Hunt Entities”) and
the immediate family members (spouses and parents, children and
siblings and their spouses, regardless of where they live) or
members of the same households (whether related or not) of such
individuals are not eligible. The Scavenger Hunt is subject to all
applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void
where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. Timing. The Scavenger Hunt begins on September 3, 2015 at
12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on September 30, 2015 at
11:59:59 ET (the “Scavenger Hunt Entry Period”). The Sponsor’s
computer or that of its designee is the official timekeeper for the
Scavenger Hunt.
3. How to Enter. During the Scavenger Hunt Entry Period, entrants
must visit www.filmriothunt.club and watch the kick-off episode for
the Scavenger Hunt. The episode will provide a clue that will lead
entrants to other clues. Entrants must use the clues to find the
other clues, and the last clue will direct entrants to a website
that will provide an email address. Entrants must then send an email
to the email address listed on the website (“Entry Email”). The
first person to send an Entry Email to the email address listed on
the website will win the Scavenger Hunt.
4. Entry Requirements. Entry Emails that are, in whole or in part,
threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, hateful,
embarrassing to another person or entity, deceptive, obscene,
invasive of another's privacy, tortious, contains racial slurs, or
contains explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of, sexual
acts, or are not within the spirit of the Scavenger Hunt, as
determined by Sponsor in Sponsor's sole discretion, are not
eligible. Entry Emails will be deemed to have been submitted by the
natural person assigned to email account associated with the entry.
No software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro or other
automated online or text message entries are permitted.
5. Odds of Winning. The odds of winning depend on the skill of the
entrants in completing the Scavenger Hunt.
6. Winner Notification. Sponsor will notify the potential winner by
replying to the potential winner’s Email Entry. The winner may be
required to submit a separate publicity release and limitation of
liability. Failure to complete such documents may result in the
selection of the next potential winner in the manner described
above. Failure to follow the prize redemption procedures within
three business days or failure to accept the prize may result in the
selection of the next potential winner.
7. Prize: To Be Determined. The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of
the prize is $1000. No prize transfer or cash redemption. No prize
substitution, in whole or in part, except by Sponsor due to prize
unavailability or any other reason as solely determined by Sponsor.
8. Release: Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the
Scavenger Hunt Entities and their suppliers, distributors,
advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of
their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers,
directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released
Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including,
but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of
property, arising out of participation in the Scavenger Hunt or
receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
9. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend
and/or modify the Scavenger Hunt, or any part of it, if any fraud,
technical failures or any other factor impairs the integrity or
proper functioning of the Scavenger Hunt, as determined by Sponsor
in its sole discretion. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves
the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with
the operation of the Scavenger Hunt or to be acting in violation of
the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an
unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner and void all associated
entries. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the
legitimate operation of the Scavenger Hunt may be a violation of
criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor
reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including
attorneys’ fees) from any such person to the fullest extent
permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these
Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. All
interpretations of these Official Rules and decisions by Sponsor are
final and binding in all matters related to the Scavenger Hunt. All
applicable federal, state and local taxes, are solely the
responsibility of the winner.
10. Limitations of Liability: Released Parties are not responsible
for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by
entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the
equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the
Scavenger Hunt; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but
not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in
phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human
intervention in any part of the entry process or the Scavenger Hunt;
(4) printing, typographical, technical, computer, network or human
error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion, the
announcement of the prizes or in any Scavenger Hunt -related
materials; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen entries;
or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be
caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's
participation in the Scavenger Hunt or receipt or use or misuse of
any prize. Released Parties are not responsible for misdirected or
undeliverable entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of
computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or
unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or
delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof.
11. Governing Law: This Scavenger Hunt is governed by the laws of
the State of Maryland, with jurisdiction and venue in Montgomery
County, Maryland, and all claims must be resolved in the courts of
Montgomery County, Maryland.
12. Use of Entrant’s Personal Information: Information collected
from entrant is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, available at
http://corporate.discovery.com/privacy-policy/.
13. Winner List: To receive the winner’s name, mail a
self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Film Riot Scavenger Hunt
Winner’s List, One Discovery Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
